Secretary of State Rubio said that less than a week after Trump signed an executive order to strengthen efforts against hostage diplomacy, Princeton student Elizabeth Tsurkov was released and will reunite with her family.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a statement on the matter, said:

“Israeli citizen and hostage Elizabeth Tsurkov, who was kidnapped in Iraq in March 2023, was released today. This evening I had an emotional conversation with her mother and Elizabeth’s sister Avital, and I told them that the entire people of Israel are happy about her return home. We will continue to fight with determination and perseverance until we bring back all our hostages – both living and deceased.”
