Russian missiles hit Kyiv: At least 8 dead, 38 injured
Stockholm, August 28 (Hibya) – According to the Kyiv Independent, on the night of August 27, Russia carried out a large-scale airstrike on Ukrainian cities, hitting Kyiv with missiles and targeting areas far from the frontlines.
Authorities reported that at least eight people, including a 14-year-old child, were killed in the attack.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that 38 more people were injured, 30 of whom were hospitalized. Several children were among the wounded.
Air raid sirens were heard across Ukraine, and residents of almost every region were urged to take shelter as Russia launched hypersonic missiles and numerous waves of drones throughout the night.
Russia’s strike on Kyiv with drones and ballistic missiles damaged buildings and caused explosions in the city. A five-story residential building took a direct hit and was completely destroyed.
Kyiv City Military Administration Head Timur Tkachenko said the first explosions in Kyiv were heard around 9:30 p.m., and air defenses were reactivated around midnight when another group of drones approached the city.
