During the call, Zelensky congratulated Dan on his election victory and emphasized the importance of regional and European cooperation with Romania.

“It is vital that Romania continues to develop and that we work together in cooperation both in our region and across Europe,” Zelensky said, adding that he respects the democratic choice of the Romanian people.

Zelensky highlighted Romania’s contributions in the field of security: “We are deeply grateful for your efforts to protect the lives of our people. Continued support for Ukraine is of vital importance. Romania understands very well how critical the fight for freedom and justice is.”
