Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

The World Food Programme (WFP) announced that only 9,000 tons of food aid had been delivered to Gaza over the past four weeks.

It was noted that this amount covers only a small fraction of the needs of the 2.1 million hungry people, adding: “Even worse, many people have lost their lives trying to reach the incoming food aid. Only a large-scale increase in food distributions can stabilize the situation, calm concerns, and restore trust in communities that more food is on the way. Safer and more reliable convoy routes, faster permit approvals, reliable communication services, and the opening of additional border crossings are urgently needed now.”

The statement pointed out that fear of hunger and urgent food needs have caused large crowds to gather along known aid routes in hopes of intercepting supplies in transit.

“WFP continues to call for the protection of all civilians and humanitarian workers delivering life-saving aid. During the ceasefire, WFP was able to get nearly 600 trucks a day into Gaza, helping to curb the wave of hunger. What is urgently needed now is a new ceasefire so that we can deliver critical food supplies consistently, regularly, and safely to families wherever they are in the Gaza Strip,” the statement concluded.
