Tajani spoke by phone with U.S. Secretary of State Rubio
Rome, June 19 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani held a phone call with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss current issues.
Tajani stated that he and Rubio discussed the Israel-Iran crisis and its impact on security in the Middle East.
He noted that they agreed on the importance of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and on the need for a ceasefire in Gaza to allow full access for humanitarian aid.
“We also talked about recent developments in Ukraine and the need for negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace. We are in close contact ahead of next week's NATO and G7 meetings in the Netherlands,” he added.
