UNRWA: Families in Gaza face unimaginable destruction
New York, May 19 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stated that the civilian population in Gaza is facing a major humanitarian catastrophe.
According to data from the Protection Cluster, 92% of homes in Gaza have been either damaged or completely destroyed. Many people have been displaced multiple times, and shelter conditions have become severely inadequate.
UNRWA emphasized that it continues to deliver essential humanitarian aid through its ongoing presence on the ground.
The statement also reiterated the call to lift the blockade on Gaza in order to alleviate the dire humanitarian conditions in the region.
