Szijjarto: The last person who should give lessons on democracy is Van der Bellen
Budapest, August 27 (Hibya) – Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó criticized Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen’s remarks about democracy in Hungary.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto responded to Van der Bellen’s criticism of Hungary’s understanding of democracy, voiced at an international forum.
In a statement on social media, Szijjarto argued that Van der Bellen made “baseless accusations.” The Hungarian minister added: “The same person tried to block the right of a party that won the elections, by cooperating with foreign political actors, from governing the country. The last person who should give lessons on democracy is him.”
