Prague, May 18 (Hibya) – Czech President Petr Pavel stated that the Terezin Fortress is a symbol of the darkest thing humanity is capable of doing.
President Pavel emphasized that Terezin represents the symbol of the darkest acts humanity can commit.
He noted that although the horrors of Nazi ideology are regularly remembered, history tends to repeat itself in some ways:
“Especially today, we must not remain indifferent even to the slightest signs that we perceive this part of history as anything other than a warning. It is our responsibility to detect evil in time and prevent its spread.”
