Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha: Russia remains stuck in the past
Kyiv, May 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that the recent meeting held in Istanbul once again clearly revealed the difference in approach between Ukraine and Russia.
Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine is focused on achieving a full and immediate ceasefire to begin a forward-looking and genuine peace process, while Russia, he claimed, remains trapped in the past.
"Russia rejects a ceasefire and constantly refers to the 2022 Istanbul talks, bringing up the same irrational demands it made three years ago," said Sybiha, stressing that this attitude undermines the peace process.
Minister Sybiha also noted that Moscow must now realize the consequences of obstructing peace and called for increased international pressure on Russia.
