Milatovic: Denmark’s support is valuable for Montenegro’s EU membership goal
Podgorica, May 19 (Hibya) – Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic received Danish Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre in the capital, Podgorica.
The meeting followed recent contacts with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during last week’s European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Tirana.
President Milatovic expressed appreciation for Denmark’s support for Montenegro’s EU accession process, stating: “We appreciate Denmark’s position that the EU enlargement process should advance based on reforms, individual merit, and performance.”
Milatovic also said he believes Denmark’s upcoming EU Council Presidency in the second half of 2025 will be an encouraging step for Montenegro’s European path.
