German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that Europeans will continue intensive diplomatic work with Ukraine and will continue to act together.

Merz stated that this decision was made today during the video conference of the Coalition of Willing, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron and him in Toulon. Merz continued in his statement:

"We must work on a summit that President Zelensky will also attend. A ceasefire needs to be achieved there. If the Russian side continues to gain time, Europe will increase sanction pressure to enhance the chances for a diplomatic solution."
