French President Macron announced that he had a meeting with Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye in Paris.

He emphasized that after various discussions, they are working to renew their partnership: “Economy, remembrance, international relations, and security, as well as preparations for the 2026 Africa–France Summit, are issues on which we are working closely with Senegal to strengthen the ties between our countries.”

Macron stressed that they want to make tangible progress on their common agenda, especially in economic matters, and added:

“I wished President Faye success in the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Dakar in 2026. Based on the experience of the Paris Games, France is proud of this partnership with Senegal.”
