According to a statement from the IDF, both regular and reserve forces under the Southern Command launched the operation as part of the “Chariots of Gideon” campaign.

The statement added that the Air Force continues to provide uninterrupted support to the forces operating in the field:

“Our forces have so far neutralized dozens of terrorists, destroyed the underground and above-ground infrastructure of the terrorist organization, and are currently occupying controlled areas in the Gaza Strip. The IDF will continue its operations against terrorist organizations in Gaza as necessary to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.”
