Gerapetritis met with EU Commissioner Brunner
Brussels, May 11 (Hibya) - Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis met with EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner in Brussels to discuss developments in the Middle East, the Libya visit, and the implementation of the EU Migration and Asylum Pact.
Gerapetritis held a meeting with Magnus Brunner in Brussels.
During the meeting, recent developments in the Middle East were discussed, while the Greek Foreign Minister’s recent contacts in Libya were also evaluated. The parties also focused on regulations that will launch a new era in the European Union’s migration and asylum policies.
With the EU Migration and Asylum Pact set to enter into force in June 2026, the aim is to make border management, asylum procedures, and the sharing of responsibilities among member states more systematic.
The parties emphasized that regional stability is directly linked to migration management and agreed on increasing cooperation.
