Starmer: Young people should have more opportunities in Europe
Brussels, May 11 (Hibya) - United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that Brexit has limited young people and said that relations with Europe should be strengthened again and broader education and work opportunities should be offered to young people.
Starmer, in his statement, evaluated policies regarding the future of young people and the United Kingdom’s relations with Europe.
Starmer stated that Brexit had restricted young people’s opportunities to live, work, and study in Europe and said that this situation should be addressed. He noted that the planned “Youth Experience Program” aims to provide young people with greater mobility and opportunities in Europe.
The Prime Minister emphasized that rebuilding a stronger and more constructive relationship with Europe is among the government’s priorities.
In his statement, Starmer also addressed social inequalities, stating that children growing up in poverty, those with special educational needs, and young people struggling to find jobs would be supported. In this context, he said that plans are being made to provide every young person with opportunities for education, employment, or internships.
