Lahbib: New humanitarian aid of 20 million euros will be provided for refugees in Türkiye
Brussels, May 11 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib announced that new humanitarian aid worth 20 million euros will be provided in 2026 for refugees and host communities in Türkiye.
EU Commissioner Lahbib stated that Türkiye continues to host millions of refugees and announced that the European Union will continue its support both for refugees and host communities.
The statement noted that within the framework of the new 20 million euro humanitarian aid package allocated for 2026, healthcare services, protection, and basic needs support will be provided to the most vulnerable groups.
The program to be implemented by the European Commission is aimed at contributing to meeting humanitarian needs in Türkiye and strengthening existing support mechanisms.
EU officials emphasized that the support aims both to improve the living conditions of refugees and to ease the burden on host communities.
