Palestinian Foreign Minister Shaheen emphasizes cooperation with honorary consuls
Ramallah, May 11 (Hibya) - Palestinian Foreign Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shaheen called for strengthening international cooperation during a meeting with honorary consuls in Ramallah, where the humanitarian situation in Gaza and developments in the West Bank were discussed.
Shaheen met in Ramallah with a delegation of honorary consuls accredited to the State of Palestine. Officials from various departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also attended the meeting.
The meeting addressed the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, the insufficiency of aid deliveries, the collapse of the healthcare system, and the spread of diseases. It also discussed the increase in settlement activities in the West Bank, settler violence, and practices placing economic pressure on the Palestinian Authority.
Minister Shaheen emphasized the importance of the role of honorary consuls in making Palestine’s voice heard in the countries where they serve and stressed the need to strengthen diplomatic and humanitarian cooperation.
The meeting also evaluated areas of joint work to support the Palestinian people internationally and to develop bilateral relations.
