EU Commission President Leyen met with Australian PM Albanese
Rome, May 18 (Hibya) – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
President Leyen met with Prime Minister Albanese in Rome.
Congratulating Albanese on his re-election, Leyen said: “In uncertain times, your renewed mandate brings both continuity and new momentum to the EU-Australia strategic partnership. Let’s deepen our ties in trade, defense, and security.”
Prime Minister Albanese emphasized that free trade means more jobs and a stronger economy, stating:
“That’s why we are working towards a free trade agreement with the European Union. Today, I met with President Leyen to discuss our joint efforts in supporting trade, global peace, and security.”
