During the call, the two leaders discussed their recent contacts and details of Zelensky’s meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden.

Zelensky stressed that diplomatic efforts for peace must be well-coordinated and focused on tangible outcomes. “Russia is trying to buy time and continue its war and occupation. That’s why we are working with our partners to increase pressure. Sanctions matter and should be made more deterrent for those responsible for this war.”

He noted that the war would eventually end at the negotiation table: “Proposals must be clear and realistic. Ukraine is ready for any format of negotiation that brings results. But if Russia continues to present unrealistic conditions and sabotage progress, there must be serious consequences.”

Zelensky also announced that he would hold further talks with other international leaders throughout the day.
