UNRWA: Gaza Strip faces worst humanitarian crisis since October 2023
New York, May 20 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached its worst level since October 2023.
In its statement, UNRWA said that Israel’s intensified air, land, and sea bombardments have caused hundreds of casualties and mass displacement.
UNRWA emphasized that for the past 11 weeks, Israeli authorities have deliberately blocked all humanitarian aid access to Gaza. The statement added: “Right now, the only thing entering Gaza is bombs. Nowhere is safe.”
The agency warned that the situation is deteriorating daily and called on the international community for urgent intervention.
