During his conversation with Hungarian Foreign Minister and Trade Minister Szijjarto, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha drew attention to Russia’s increasing terrorist actions and emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to peace efforts.

Sybiha stated that the international community must increase pressure on Russia and provide united support to advance the peace process, adding: “We discussed Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Taras Kachka’s visit to Budapest and other future bilateral contacts between Ukraine and Hungary.”

He stressed that in Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations, new chapters should be opened as soon as possible and that all EU member states should support this step.

“I also welcomed Hungary’s 10-year natural gas supply agreement with Shell as an important step to strengthen regional and European energy security. The security of Ukraine and Europe is inseparable, and strengthening this security is our common interest.”
