Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence, Harris, said he was deeply concerned about reports of Israeli attacks emanating from Doha.

Highlighting that Qatar has played a very positive role in achieving a ceasefire and the release of all hostages, Harris said: “As I have said many times, we do not need a further escalation of violence that risks destabilizing the region. Our top priority is a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all hostages, broad humanitarian access, and a roadmap to a two-state solution.”

Calling on all parties to show restraint, de-escalate tensions, and engage in dialogue and diplomacy, Harris added: “The Irish Embassy in the UAE currently advises all Irish citizens to remain in their homes, be cautious, follow local and international media, heed the advice of local authorities, and comply with the additional security measures in place during this period.”
