Russia: Ukraine attacked station supplying gas to Turkish Stream
Moscow, April 9 (Hibya) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine carried out an attack on Wednesday night on the Korenovskaya compressor station and the Temryuk gas distribution station in the Krasnodar region, which supply gas to the Turkish Stream export pipeline.
In the statement released by the ministry, it was stated that all UAVs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area were neutralized.
The statement read: "From 11:38 PM on April 8 to 1:26 AM on April 9, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched an attack using 8 drones on the Korenovskaya compressor station, which supplies gas to the Turkish Stream export pipeline. The station’s pumping capacity is 31.5 billion cubic meters per year."
It was also announced that at 2:30 AM on April 9, Ukraine carried out another attack with two drones on the Temryuk gas distribution station, which supplies gas to the city and port of Temryuk. Both drones were destroyed at a safe distance.
“Turkish Stream” is known as an export gas pipeline running from Russia to Turkey via the Black Sea. Its design capacity is 31.5 billion cubic meters per year, supplying gas to Turkey and to Southern and Southeastern European countries through Turkish territory. The pipeline consists of two lines, each capable of pumping up to 15.75 billion cubic meters per year.
