European Union (EU) Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos drew attention to the situation of children illegally deported by Russia from Ukraine.

Referring to the devastating impact of the war on children, Kos said: “Russia’s war against Ukraine is also a war against children. We cannot turn a blind eye to these crimes.”

Supporting the work of documentary director Sarah McCarthy, Kos stated: “Director Sarah McCarthy did not close her eyes. She came to Brussels to share her documentary ‘After the Rain,’ which gives a voice to Ukrainian children and families affected by Russia’s illegal deportations.”
