New York, May 27 (Hibya) - Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin held a meeting in New York with Burhan Gafoor, Singapore’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Chair of the UN Open-ended Working Group on the Security and Safe Use of Information and Communication Technologies (2021–2025).

The meeting addressed the current negotiation process on international information security at the UN and its future. The importance of establishing a permanent mechanism to replace the Open-ended Working Group (OEWG), which is concluding its work this year, was emphasized.
