Pavel: 80 years ago, the worst military conflict in modern European history ended
Prague, May 8 (Hibya) – Czech President Petr Pavel issued a message marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Czech President Petr Pavel shared a message on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
In his message, Pavel stated: "Eighty years ago, the worst military conflict in modern European history came to an end. World War II affected millions of lives and showed how far hatred and division within society can go. Unfortunately, we tend to forget and repeat the same mistakes. That is why we must learn from the stories of those who fought against oppression and injustice, and who often paid the ultimate price for our freedom. This is the best way to honor their memory and ensure that both we and future generations continue to live in a safe country."
