Conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot today during an event held at Utah Valley University.

Regarding the incident, U.S. President Donald Trump called for prayers, saying: "We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who was shot. He is a wonderful man from head to toe. God bless him."

Utah Governor Spencer J. Cox stated that he had been informed by law enforcement about the violence that Charlie Kirk faced during his visit to Utah Valley University.

Governor Cox added in his statement that updates would be shared, saying: "Those responsible will be fully held accountable. Violence has no place in our public life."

The university also announced that a suspect had been taken into custody.
