Zelensky: We remember everyone who gave their life for Ukraine
Kyiv, August 29 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that August 29 is an important and special day to commemorate Ukraine's heroes and fallen defenders, paying tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people and to those who lost their lives for the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commemorated Ukraine's heroes and fallen defenders in a statement marking August 29.
Zelensky said that Ukraine's defenders have been fighting in the full-scale war ongoing since 2022, as well as in Russia's war against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people since 2014.
Stating that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are defending the country's positions on the front and that civilians are losing their lives in Russian attacks, Zelensky said they are actively fighting, particularly through long-range strikes, to push the war away from Ukrainian territory.
Zelensky emphasized that the actions of Ukraine's heroes and of the women and men who did not surrender to Russia and fought for Ukraine's right to determine its own future have not been forgotten.
Paying tribute to Ukrainian soldiers and the courage of the Ukrainian people, Zelensky commemorated everyone who lost their lives so that Ukraine could live, and thanked the fallen heroes and all of the country's soldiers.
