Von der Leyen announces earthquake support for Colombia
Brussels, August 10 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union is supporting rescue efforts following the earthquake in Colombia's Chocó region and is ready to provide additional assistance.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen sent a message of solidarity to the Colombian people following the powerful earthquake in Colombia's Chocó region.
Von der Leyen said Europe's heart is with the Colombian people affected by the earthquake, announcing that the European Union has activated the Copernicus satellite service to support rescue efforts.
Von der Leyen said Copernicus has begun to be used to assist rescue operations and stated that the European Union is ready to provide further support if needed.
