Türk’s message on the International Day to Protect Education from Attack
New York, September 10 (Hibya) – United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk issued a message on the occasion of the International Day to Protect Education from Attack.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Türk, reported that attacks on schools during wars worldwide are increasing.
He stressed that governments and all parties to conflict must prevent these attacks and hold perpetrators accountable, adding: “The International Day to Protect Education from Attack is a stark reminder that attacks on schools are in fact attacks on children’s hopes and futures.”
