Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, addressing the suffering caused by cases of enforced disappearance around the world, emphasized the damage this practice inflicts on societies and the importance of the pursuit of justice.

Speaking about the uncertainty and pain experienced by the relatives of missing persons, Türk said, "It is very difficult to describe the pain of not knowing the fate of your loved ones. Enforced disappearance is a cruel practice that spreads fear and intimidates entire communities."

Drawing attention to the responsibilities that states must assume, Türk said, "States must act to save lives and help every victim find truth and justice."
