Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made a statement on Russia’s drone attacks across Ukraine.

Tsahkna said the attacks had particularly severe consequences in the village of Myla and called for increased pressure on Russia and continued support for Ukraine.

In a post on his social media account, Tsahkna said Russian drones carried out attacks across Ukraine for another night.

Tsahkna said the village of Myla suffered one of the heaviest blows, adding that Russian drones targeted critical infrastructure as well as warehouses, residential blocks and nursing homes.

Tsahkna said 27 people were killed as a result of the attacks. He noted that Odesa, Dnipro and Kyiv were also among the areas targeted and that more than 260 attack drones were used in a single night.

Tsahkna argued that the purpose of Russia’s attacks was terror and destruction and drew attention to the recent repetition of attacks on critical infrastructure.

Tsahkna described this week’s attacks on critical infrastructure as “a calculated effort to leave Ukrainians cold, hungry and in the dark ahead of winter.”

Tsahkna said Russia’s plan must fail and called for increased international pressure on Moscow.

Tsahkna said tougher sanctions should be imposed on Russia, its international isolation should be deepened and no concessions should be made, saying: “Pressure on Russia must increase: tougher sanctions, deeper international isolation, zero concessions.”

Tsahkna also emphasized that international support for Ukraine must remain strong and uninterrupted, saying: “Support for Ukraine must remain ironclad and continuous across every avenue of assistance.”
