Sharif and Erdogan held a phone call
Islamabad, May 26 (Hibya) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a phone conversation with President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In his statement regarding the call, Sharif said, “I had an extremely warm and cordial telephone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
It was stated that the parties exchanged Eid al-Adha greetings and once again reaffirmed the historic and strong ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Sharif stated that there was agreement on accelerating cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and regional connectivity.
The Pakistani Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan for Türkiye’s support for Pakistan-led peace efforts and also expressed appreciation for the solidarity shown following the terrorist attack in Balochistan.
The statement emphasized that Pakistan and Türkiye continue to act together in combating terrorism and in achieving peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
