European Council President Costa meets UNRWA Commissioner-General Saunders
Brussels, July 15 (Hibya) – European Council President António Costa met with UNRWA Commissioner-General C. F. Saunders. Costa stressed that UNRWA must continue its role in providing essential services to millions of Palestinians.
European Council President António Costa announced that he had met with the new head of UNRWA, C. F. Saunders.
Following the meeting, Costa said he appreciated Saunders' pragmatic approach to ensuring that UNRWA continues its operations in the region.
The European Council President emphasized the importance of UNRWA continuing to provide critical services to millions of Palestinians across the region, particularly in Gaza.
Costa also stated that the European Union will continue to provide political and financial support to UNRWA, as it has done in the past. He noted that the EU has supported UNRWA for decades.
