CENTCOM: Iran's claim regarding a civilian facility is false
Washington, July 15 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected Iranian state media reports claiming that U.S. forces struck a civilian wheat storage facility in Hoveyzeh, stating that the strikes targeted military objectives in Iran.
CENTCOM issued a statement regarding reports in Iranian state media alleging that U.S. forces targeted a civilian wheat storage facility in the city of Hoveyzeh on July 14.
CENTCOM described the claim as "false," stating that U.S. forces conducted operations on July 14 against military targets in Bandar Abbas, Khormuj, Ahvaz, Qeshm, Tunb, Bushehr, and Kuh-e Stak in Iran.
The statement said the operations were aimed at reducing Iran's capability to carry out attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM also alleged that Iran targets civilians transiting the Strait of Hormuz as well as civilians in Gulf countries, emphasizing that U.S. operations are intended to limit Iran's military capabilities.
