Russia strikes government building in Kyiv
Moscow, September 7 (Hibya) – The Ukrainian TV channel "Obshchestvennoye" reported that a fire broke out Sunday morning in a government building in central Kyiv.
The outlet "Strana.ua" published a photo of the fire, showing smoke rising above Independence Square.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko confirmed that a fire had broken out in a government building in the Pechersk district and that firefighting teams were working at the scene.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenco officially confirmed that the cabinet building in Kyiv was damaged early this morning in a Russian strike. This was the first attack to hit the building.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched a record number of drones and missiles during the overnight attack – more than 800 in total.
According to the Air Force, nine missiles and 56 drones struck 37 targets, and falling debris hit eight sites.
The Prime Minister said that the roof and upper floors of the cabinet building were damaged.
