Qatar announced that it aims to host the Midterm Review Meeting of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA MTR) for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in March 2027.

Speaking at a thematic event held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Qatar's Permanent Representative to the UN, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, said the meeting would serve as an important platform for advancing development goals and strengthening global cooperation.

Al-Thani noted that LDCs face multidimensional challenges, including energy security, debt burdens, infrastructure gaps, and vulnerability to climate change, stressing that the Doha Programme of Action plays a crucial role in addressing these issues.

She also reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting developing countries, highlighting that projects implemented through the Qatar Fund for Development and the financial contributions it provides constitute an important part of that support. She added that Qatar would continue strengthening international development partnerships.
