The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine issued a statement regarding developments in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

The ministry condemned the practices of Israeli forces and settlers in the village and called on the international community to act urgently to protect the Palestinian people.

The ministry said Israeli forces have kept the village of Al-Mughayyir under siege for around 20 days. The statement said the entrances to the village had been brought under control and closed, while residents’ movement, entry and exit had been limited to only two hours a day.

The ministry reported that Israeli forces have kept the entrances to the village completely closed since last night, prevented ambulances from entering and randomly targeted civilians.

The statement argued that these practices are part of an escalation aimed at isolating the village, placing it under military and economic siege and forcibly displacing its residents. The ministry described the developments as part of a systematic process targeting the Palestinian presence.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the actions of occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank were escalating, alleging that settler attacks were being used as a tool to implement the policies of the occupation government.

The ministry argued that acts of killing, terrorism and forced displacement are based on a policy of creating a new reality. The statement said repeated crimes are gradually normalized over time with the aim of changing territorial and demographic balances and forcibly imposing new realities.

The ministry also alleged that settlers are provided with weapons, protection, and political and legal support. It warned that, alongside the encouragement of terrorism, extremism and racism, continued support for settlers could lead to an escalation with uncontrollable consequences.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the international community and all states not to limit themselves to verbal condemnations.

The ministry called for deterrent and concrete political, legal and economic measures commensurate with the seriousness of the ongoing actions in the occupied West Bank.

The statement called for urgent action to provide international protection to the Palestinian people and for the activation of international jurisdiction and mechanisms to pursue the perpetrators of these acts and prevent them from escaping accountability.

The ministry called for practical measures to prevent products originating from illegal settlements from entering international markets.

The statement also called for an end to any trade, investment or support that could contribute to strengthening settler activities. It demanded that individuals and companies providing settlers with weapons, financing, protection or any form of support be held accountable.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said efforts should be made to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied territories of the State of Palestine, including Jerusalem.

The ministry also called for guaranteeing the Palestinian people’s ability to exercise their legitimate national rights. It said foremost among these rights are the right to self-determination and the right to establish an independent state along the June 1967 borders.

The ministry emphasized that the international community must take urgent and concrete steps in response to the siege of Al-Mughayyir village and developments in the West Bank.
