Macron: French carries the legacy of centuries, the promise of dialogue and a universal ideal
Paris, March 20 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron published a message on the occasion of Francophonie Day.

Referring to the global position of the French language, Macron said: “With around 400 million speakers, it has become the fourth largest language in the world.”
Making remarks about Francophonie, Macron stated: “We must continue to keep this language alive, defend it and love it. French carries the legacy of centuries, the promise of dialogue and a universal ideal.”
Highlighting the unifying power of French, Macron said: “Our language brings people together and spreads across the world beyond borders. French is a treasure. Long live French!”
