Guterres: These attacks must stop
New York, April 25 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed deep sorrow over the death of an Indonesian peacekeeper who was wounded in March by a tank shell fired by the Israel Defense Forces at a UNIFIL position.
Guterres extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen peacekeeper, while wishing a full and speedy recovery to the other injured personnel.
The statement noted that six UNIFIL peacekeepers were killed and many others were seriously injured in recent incidents during clashes between Hezbollah and the Israel Defense Forces.
Guterres called for an end to the violence, stating: “These attacks must stop.”
