Free trade and defense partnership between the EU and Australia
Brussels, March 24 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa announced that negotiations on a free trade agreement between the EU and Australia have been completed and a security and defense partnership has been signed.
European Council President Costa emphasized that Australia is an important ally for the EU.
Stating that both sides act together on the international stage, Costa said: “I welcome the conclusion of the EU-Australia Free Trade Agreement negotiations and the signing of the Security and Defense Partnership.”
Highlighting the importance of these steps, Costa added: “These two concrete steps demonstrate the closeness of our partnership in an increasingly turbulent world.”
