EU adopts 17th sanctions package against Russia
Kyiv, May 20 (Hibya) – The European Union (EU) has adopted its 17th package of sanctions against Russia. As part of this, approximately 200 tankers in Russia’s shadow fleet have been subjected to restrictions.
According to a statement from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the EU has adopted the 17th package of sanctions against Russia, including restrictions on about 200 tankers from Russia’s shadow fleet.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, “Putin continues this war, he wants this war, so we must put pressure on the Russians to end it. That’s why it’s crucial to have full diplomatic mobilization to deter Russian aggression and restore peace in Europe.”
The statement also noted that discussions regarding the 18th package are already underway: “Sanctions targeting Russia’s oil infrastructure, energy trade, banking sector, and financial plans will strike where it hurts most and bring us closer to a just and lasting peace.”
