Carney: We commemorate more than 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust
Ottawa, April 13 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney commemorated those who lost their lives in the Holocaust in a message issued on the occasion of Yom HaShoah.
In his message, Carney said, “On the occasion of Yom HaShoah, we commemorate more than six million Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust.” Emphasizing that the Holocaust is one of the darkest periods in human history, Carney stated that preserving the memory of those who lost their lives is a shared responsibility.
Carney also added, “As we fulfill this duty of remembrance, we must always remain vigilant and alert so that the phrase ‘Never Again’ can retain its meaning.”
