Araghchi: The rights of our citizens must be respected
Tehran, May 6 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi made a statement following reports that some Iranian citizens had been detained by UK security forces.
Araghchi said they are monitoring the developments concerning the detentions with concern and expressed Iran's readiness to support investigations if deemed necessary.
He called on the United Kingdom to respect the rights of Iranian citizens and to ensure that legal procedures are conducted fairly. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated: “We are disturbed by the reports about the detention of some Iranian citizens in England. If there are credible allegations of misconduct, Iran is ready to contribute to the proper conduct of investigations.”
