Zelensky meets US Senators Blumenthal and Lankford
Kyiv, August 23 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with US Senators Richard Blumenthal and James Lankford during the National Prayer Breakfast held in Kyiv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on his meeting with US Senators Richard Blumenthal and James Lankford.
Highlighting the importance of support from the United States, Zelensky said, “I am grateful for the continued bipartisan and bicameral support of the United States. We appreciate the work being done in both chambers of the US Congress to increase pressure on Russia, and we hope that Lindsey Graham’s sanctions bill targeting Russia and Iran will ultimately be implemented.”
Zelensky said that he briefed the senators on the situation on the ground, stating, “I informed the senators about Russia’s ongoing ballistic terror. It is very important for Ukraine to have the capability to counter it, and implementing the decision to grant a license for the production of Patriot missiles could help significantly.”
Drawing attention to other issues on the agenda, Zelensky concluded his statement by saying, “We also discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, bilateral agreements and promising projects. Thank you!”
