Xi: China and the US should act together on the basis of common interests
Beijing, May 14 (Hibya) - Chinese President Xi Jinping made remarks on China-US relations during his meeting with United States (US) President Donald Trump in Beijing.
According to CCTV, Chinese President Xi said during his meeting with US President Donald Trump that the two countries have more common interests than differences, stating, “China and the US have more common interests than differences. When the two sides cooperate, both sides benefit; when they confront each other, both sides suffer.”
Emphasizing that the two countries should be partners rather than rivals, Xi said, “China and the US should work together to tackle global challenges and provide greater stability to the world.”
Xi Jinping also stated that he expects 2026 to mark the beginning of a new era in China-US relations, saying, “I hope 2026 will be a historic year that opens a new chapter in China-US relations.”
