Ukraine emphasizes cooperation and peace with Africa
Kyiv, May 23 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha discussed cooperation with African countries, peace initiatives, and global security issues at Spier Dialogue 2026 in South Africa.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha participated online in the Spier Dialogue 2026 event held in South Africa.
At the forum, Sybiha made assessments regarding peace efforts, Africa’s global role, and Ukraine’s cooperation with African countries.
Highlighting the growing importance of the African continent in the international system, Sybiha stated that Africa’s voice is gaining greater significance globally.
Referring to Ukraine’s relations with African countries, Sybiha said cooperation is being carried out in food security, trade, the expansion of diplomatic missions, and various other fields.
In his speech, Sybiha also emphasized the need to be cautious about Russia’s military recruitment activities targeting African youth and called for the issue to be addressed on the international agenda.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine is ready for cooperation in agriculture, digitalization, energy, and military expertise, adding that partnership with African countries is based on mutual benefit.
