UAE Air Defense intercepts missiles and drones from Iran
Abu Dhabi, April 1 (Hibya) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that it neutralized 5 ballistic missiles and 35 drones, stating that it remains on full alert against all threats.
The UAE Ministry of Defense announced that on April 1, 2026, its air defense systems intercepted and neutralized 5 ballistic missiles and 35 drones launched from Iran. The ministry added that since the beginning of the attacks, a total of 438 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 2,012 drones have been intercepted.
As a result of the attacks, two soldiers were killed while on duty, along with a Moroccan civilian working under contract with the UAE. Additionally, 9 civilians from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, and India lost their lives, while 190 individuals of various nationalities were injured with minor, moderate, and severe wounds.
The UAE Ministry of Defense emphasized that it is prepared for all threats and will continue to firmly defend the country’s security, sovereignty, and national interests.
