Tsahkna: Moldova’s security is an integral part of Europe’s security
Tallinn, October 5 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna reiterated his support for Moldova’s European Union accession process and said the EU should open the remaining negotiating chapters.
Following his meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Tsahkna assessed Moldova’s steps on its path toward the EU.
“Moldova’s security is an integral part of Europe’s security,” Tsahkna said, reiterating Estonia’s strong support for Moldova’s EU path.
Stating that Moldova has taken the necessary steps, Tsahkna said, “The EU should respond by opening the remaining negotiating chapters.”
Tsahkna said EU enlargement expands the single market, creates economic opportunities and makes Europe safer by eliminating grey zones between Russia and the EU. He added that Estonia would continue sharing its experience to support Moldova’s reforms and strengthen its resilience.
