Trump: We will make the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and free
Washington, March 14 (Hibya) - U.S. President Donald Trump called on allied countries to send warships to the region against Iran’s attempts to close the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the United States will bomb the coastline and ensure the security of the waterway.
U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement regarding the tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for global energy shipments, and Iran’s military activities in the region.
Trump stated that many countries would act together with the United States to keep the strait open, saying: "Especially those affected by Iran’s attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz will send warships along with the United States to keep the strait open and secure."
Assessing Iran’s military capacity, Trump said: "We have already destroyed 100 percent of Iran’s military capability, but no matter how heavily they are defeated, it is easy for them to send one or two drones, lay mines, or deploy short-range missiles near this waterway."
Calling on the international community to cooperate, Trump said: "I hope China, France, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and others affected by this artificial restriction will send ships to the region so that the Strait of Hormuz will no longer pose a threat from a decapitated nation."
Referring to U.S. operational plans, Trump said: "Meanwhile, the United States will heavily bomb the coastline and continuously strike Iranian boats and ships in the water. One way or another, we will soon make the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and free."
